ISLAMABAD, Jul 19 (APP):A delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by Acting President Azhar ul Islam Zafar met with IESCO officials and discussed the issues faced by domestic and commercial consumers.
He emphasized the need to upgrade the infrastructure on modern standards to address the problems on a priority basis, said a press release.
The ICCI delegation expressed concerns about the performance of distribution companies, particularly the maintenance of commercial transformers, which has added to the woes of the business community.
Chairman Founder Group Khalid Iqbal Malik stressed the need to replace and repair faulty transformers to facilitate business and domestic consumers.
President All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajraan Ajmal Baloch said that the former IESCO chief had committed to repairing all transformers installed before 2008.
Director Operations IESCO assured the delegation that genuine problems of the business community would be resolved on a priority basis, a survey of old transformers would be conducted a committee comprising business community members and IESCO officials would be formed to find a viable solution to the problem.
The meeting aimed to find a solution to the long-standing issues faced by consumers and to improve IESCO’s performance to meet customer satisfaction.
